We've booked a 2-day-tour and our guide was Tibi. We had a wonderful time together. Tibi explains a lot and is also a good entertainer. There was more than enough food and drinks.

I loved this hike. Sebi was a terrific guide to the mountains and all things Romanian. All questions prompted interesting conversations. The mountains were glorious, the hide was super comfy and company was excellent. Saw 2 bison and a bear visited on 2 days! So good to learn about the conservation efforts. Highly recommended.
Hiking & Wildlife Tracking Trip in the Carpathians
We had the Bison Tour in the Carpathian Mountains. It was amazing. We were met by two friendly guides who were careful to help us and show us all that they could of the environment and people in are as well as the animals. One of them was a professional ecologist who had been responsible for the reintroduction of the animal in the wild 5 years before and was a park ranger. The other a great leader with a deep understanding of the mountains, so friendly and interesting and made communication so easy and enjoyable. We were super lucky... we saw the herd of 12 animals initially in the woodland and then followed them through the clearing into the meadow. They were amazing animals and this touch with wilderness will never be forgotten by us. We were a family of 7 people and ranked this the highest memory of our two week holiday in wonderful Romania. We cannot rank the Romanian Friend tour highly enough - the guides were wonderful and the organisation very clear making it very sure where we were to meet and what to expect. Thank you

Romanian Friend led us to this amazing team who run excellent conservation projects. The hide we stayed in was really special, great views, comfortable, remote. Our guide was very friendly and answered our constant questions about the Carpathian Mountains, the forest, Romanian history and culture. He was also a great cook.

Hiking & Wildlife Tracking Trip in the Carpathians
We had an amazing day out with Oana and the ranger and spotted a bear (fortunately from the car) and bisons only after an hour of hiking. It was a real adventure as we went on unbeaten paths but we felt looked after all the time. Oana was lovely and very knowledgeable.

An absolute highlight of our trip to Brasov. My son and I spent a fantastic day with our guide Oana and two rangers tracking Bison through the mountainous forests. An unforgettable experience.

All our dreams were fulfilled. We saw bears, had a great hike of 30 km in the mountains and last but not least we had the brilliant guide Razvan. He was so good with our son who has a mental handicap, was responsible, … The hide was so beautiful and the food was excellent,…It was a ‘top experience’! Thanks a lot to Romanian Friend who made this possible after many attempts!

What a fantastic trip! Our tour through Romanian Friend was excellent. The knowledge of the guide, the wildlife we saw, the scenery….it was executed brilliantly. The communication from booking to the tour starting was also fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Great tour! We got to see various wild animals (bears, bisons, a boar, deers) and enjoyed some hikes and tranquility in the beautiful nature of Fagaras mountains. Our guide Radu provided us with a lot of information about wildlife, romanian history and geography. We recommend!

Amazing! We had a very nice tour. Everything was good, with beautiful sight from the cabin, wonderful nature and really nice guides. We will definitely come back one day

We loved our stay in the Fagaras Mountain Cabin. Andrei, our guide, was a really nice guy to hang out with. He talked with passion about wildlife in the Fagaras Mountains and the work that is done by their non-profit organisation and life in general in Romania. We were lucky to see a mama bear with her cub in the evening, hanging around in front of the cabin. The European bizons were around several times. We booked this tour for 2020 but Romanian Friend was very flexible with us changing dates and other details, I highly recommend their service!

great trip through the wild mountains, we learned a lot about animals and Romanian nature, the kids were thrilled. Saw some small animals and plenty of tracks, our wildlife guide was an expert. Also thanks to Romanian Friend team for setting this up!

Our time at the hide with Vlad was absolutely brilliant. We can’t help but feel very lucky to have seen boar, bear and deer up close and personal all in one evening! The views from the mountain top were breathtaking and we saw lots of tracks on our hike. Thank you Romanian Friend for a wonderful experience - we will never forget it!
